Blocking gutter downpipes

We are busy redirecting some downpipes into Jojo's. What is the best way to "block" the other downpipes so that water is redirected to the Jojo linked pipes?

 Put a ball in the downpipe opening? (Inject a little water into the ball to prevent it blowing away)
