Just thought I'd share some tricks to keep your clothes fresh for longer.
First, magical baking soda; mix it into a paste with a little water and smear onto stinky parts like armpit areas, hell, any "areas"! Allow to dry, then brush off. You can also put half a cup of baking soda into a bin bag with some unsavoury clothes, shake it about, leave for 10 minutes and dust off baking soda. I wouldn't recommend putting dirty children in the bag, just saying.
Next, white vinegar! Not brown, balsamic or funky pomegranate infused...are you listening Hipsters? One part vinegar, one part water in a spray bottle. Test on inconspicuous area first, then spritz away with your clothes turned inside out; air dry and off you trot...put your clothes back on first though.
One tablespoon of lemon juice to 1 cup of water also makes a refreshing spritz, but be warned lemon can bleach...unless you're going for retro 80s vibe, be careful.
Lastly, cheap vodka! Let's face it it's probably cheaper than water! Put it neat into a spray bottle and spritz away, spritz some in your mouth too to help you forget that you're living like a refugee in your own home, while you're at it!
When you do hand wash use a bit of Epsom salts in your wash to soften water and make soap go further, then use a bit of vinegar in the rinse water to help dispel the soap.
Buy a sink plunger, drill some holes randomly around it and use it to agitate the clothes in a bucket or shallow bath. You can extend the stick with a broom handle to save your back. https://wswchintstips.blogspot.co.za/2018/01/human-powered-washing-machine-diy-5.html
Maybe start a trend for hand washing parties! Everyone brings a load, a bit of water and plunges anyway whilst spraying vodka in their mouths!
Remember, necessity is the mother of all invention.
